Double satisfaction at the “17° Rally Ronde Internazionale del Ticino”

The long-awaited "home race" for the Team Race Art Technology / ŠKODA Swiss Motorsport which took place on 27 to 28 June 2014 ended in a positive way for both the crews involved in a challenging and exciting race.
The driver Denis Colombini from San Marino aboard the ŠKODA Fabia Super 2000 and flanked by Michele Ferrara, has achieved an excellent second place in S2000 class preceded only by the Swiss Carron which led to the victory his Peugeot 207. An eighth place in an overall ranking dotted by WRC cars and Swiss drivers. Despite the absence from the world of rallying for sixteen months and his first participation in this event, Denis has achieved a good performance in a race strongly influenced by the weather conditions, much uncertain and fluctuating, in which the right choice of tires was crucial. Unfortunately, in this sense, the luck was not on his side if not during the ultimate PS when in fact he set the fastest time of the class.
On the scene also the team principal, Manuel Maneschi, on Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X, who shared the route with the trusted friend Mattia Orio. Manuel, who was absent from the races for four years, he has experimented in this difficult race that is been able to handle it very well by improving from time to time the timing of the special stages and surely coming to an end with a greater feeling with the car.
Re on Citroen DS3 WRC was the overall winner for the second year in a row, on the second step of the podium the former champion Swiss Burri on Citroen C4 WRC and on the third Cremona on Ford Fiesta WRC.
"It's been a tough race - says Denis Colombini - because of the weather conditions very difficult for the choice of tires; unfortunately, in most stages we made an incorrect assessment so negatively affecting performance. Apart from that, I'm satisfied with the result after sixteen months of absence from racing. We have accumulated miles and fundamental experience for future races. I thank my co-driver Michael and all the team for the cooperation".
"I really enjoyed myself - says Manuel Maneschi - It's always nice to take part in the race at home and be able to do it. After four years I decided to get back to racing; I've definitely taken confidence with the car and I hope to raise again more feeling in the next two - three races of this season for then be ready for the 2015 program".
A special thank you from the team both to the crews protagonists and also to all the sponsors who have contributed to the good results of this "home event" 2014 edition.
